What this site does — and what it does not do yet.

Accessibility here is verified, not asserted. Before each update goes live, we automatically check that every colour combination is still easy to read — if any fails, the update is not published.

What is in place

  • WCAG 2.1 AA contrast on every rendered colour pair, verified by 61 automated tests that fail the build.
  • Light and dark themes, following the system preference by default, with a manual choice stored in the browser.
  • A text-size control up to 125% that does not break the layout: the whole type and spacing scale is relative.
  • prefers-reduced-motion honoured, plus an in-page control for anyone who cannot change the system setting.
  • Full keyboard navigation, with focus always visible and a skip link straight to the content.
  • Semantic HTML with landmarks, real lists, and a label bound to every form field.
  • Works without JavaScript: the form submits, navigation works, and the system theme is honoured.
  • Brazilian Sign Language translation via the federal government's VLibras, on the Portuguese pages.

What we do not do yet

  • We have no independent third-party accessibility audit. The checks are internal and automated.
  • Libras exists in Portuguese only. VLibras translates from Brazilian Portuguese, and this widget has no English or Spanish equivalent.
  • We have not yet tested every flow with screen readers across all browser and operating-system combinations.
